Producers of the FOX television show So You Think You Can Dance auditioned thousands of people for the show’s upcoming seventh season, and of those thousands, 11 were picked to show their moves on national TV — including Phoenix resident Lauren Froderman.
Froderman, 18, was born and raised in the Valley, and has been dancing since she was 3. When she was 10, Froderman performed with the Phoenix Rockettes, and she recently graduated from the Bender Performing Arts School in Phoenix. Her specialty is contemporary jazz dance. She says she aspires to be a school teacher, and wants to perform on Broadway someday.
This month, however, Froderman will be focused on the SYTYCD
competition, which begins airing on FOX Wednesday, June 16 at 8 p.m.
Froderman’s competition includes a former Los Angeles Laker Girl, a
graduate of The Julliard School, and a former principal soloist with
the Miami City Ballet.
