There are a lot of unfair stereotypes about sports followers, but no group gets a worse rap than NASCAR fans. It’s said that if the left-turn circuit stops in your town, you can expect a bunch of truck-driving, chaw-loving country folk to show up on Sunday for the race.

This really couldn’t be further from the truth. NASCAR events usually start on Friday, so you should see these people long before Sunday.

There will be plenty of rowdy fans at Phoenix International Raceway for NASCAR Weekend. The Lucas Oil 150 takes place at 6 p.m. Friday, February 25, the Bashas’ Supermarket 200 at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, February 26, and the Subway Fresh Fit 500 at 1 p.m. Sunday, February 27.

Fri., Feb. 25, 6 p.m.; Sat., Feb. 26, 3:30 p.m.; Sun., Feb. 27, 1 p.m., 2011
