Spicy and sweet are like the yin and yang of the palette, offering both decadence and flair. On Monday, November 12, the Desert Botanical Garden, 1201 North Galvin Parkway, celebrates the delicate balance of both flavors as it wraps up the Chiles and Chocolate Festival.

From gourmet chocolates to southwest salsa, the festival promises food, drink, live entertainment, and a selection of vendors. DJ Miguel Ivery will send the spicy to your ears with Latin beats, while three food stations will serve spicy flavors in various forms, from green chili pork and chicken mole to sopes and freshly roasted chilies. On the sweet side of things, the full-service cash bar will feature chocolate martinis.

Nov. 9-12, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., 2012
