Maybe it’s the recent unveiling of the iPad that caused Revolver Records to rebel against the digital world by coordinating Open DJ Tables. At the very least, the shindig is causing some laptop DJs to rethink their 1s-and-2s M.O. “I’ve had experienced laptop DJs lamenting about vinyl say how they want to come out because they haven’t touched a record in months,” says event organizer mig50, who adds that anyone who wants a piece of the two Technics 1200s can get it. “[The event] is also great for people just starting out who want to network and get a gig.”
Sign up begins at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 1 (and every other Thursday from then on out), for a 20-minute-max set between the hours of 7 and 9.
