If Vincent van Gogh were to see the hefty price tags his paintings carry nowadays (a recent auction estimated that one of his works could fetch $4.2 million), we’re pretty sure the post-impressionist, who was massively unsuccessful during his lifetime, would not only roll over in his grave but would probably be tempted to slice off that other ear.
So goes the ebb and flow of success. Fortunately for fans of the depressive Dutchman, a van Gogh experience much more immersive (and nowhere near the million-dollar mark) makes its way to Arizona Science Center.
“Van Gogh Alive”looks at the life and work of the prolific artist from 1880 to 1890 and includes some 3,000 images on a massive, hyper-detailed scale.
