It’s easy to talk about what Arizona doesn’t have, but sometimes it’s good to focus on the positive. On one hand, Arizona lacks things like salt shops or fall. On the other, the state is blessed with a vibrant professional wrestling community.
The crown jewel of that community is Elite Xtreme Wrestling, a federation founded and run by Tyson Tyler and Arizona native Derek Neikirk. For those looking to experience some of AZ’s culture, EXW will be hosting a show at the Marquee Theatre. “The Day The Earth Stood Still” competition, which runs from 6 to 10:30 p.m., will be headlined by a championship match between Neikirk and Tyler. The card also promises matches featuring former ECW Champion Tommy Dreamer and ex-WWE Intercontinental Champion Val Venis.
