Arizona has plenty to celebrate: the Centennial, great weather, stunning landscapes, and, beginning Saturday, beer.
The 12th Annual Arizona Strong Beer Festival kicks off Arizona Beer Week on from 1 to 5 p.m. February 18 at Steele Indian School Park, 200 East Indian School Road. Style guidelines dictate that strong beer has at least 5.5 percent alcohol by volume. But Four Peaks Brewing owner and head of the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild Andy Ingram says the festival’s focus is on beers that blow that minimum out of its cask. Although, Ingram adds, “All beers are welcome at this thing.”

Many of Arizona’s 26 breweries will attend, along with out-of-state options from Colorado, Oregon, California, and Alaska.

Sat., Feb. 18, 1-5 p.m., 2012
