Straddling a line between performance and photography is a group of artists with a foot in both worlds. These creators utilize performance as part of their process, and the result is equal parts what was happening while the photo was made and the physical photography.
To see the phenomenon in person (and in action), you’ll want to take a trip to ASU Art Museum, 51 East 10th Street in Tempe, where 50 photographs fuzz the boundary between reality and imagination. “Performing for Camera” opens Saturday, February 4, followed by an official reception on Fabruary 7.
The exhibition also includes upcoming gallery talks led by participating artists such as Spencer Tunick, who will speak on February 7, Charlie White on Febraury 21, and Anthony Goicolea on February 28.
Sat., Feb. 4, 11 a.m.; Tuesdays-Sundays, 11 a.m. Starts: Feb. 4. Continues through May 19, 2012
