You won’t find the PHX’s fastest and most furious street racers hauling ass down any public roads (and thus risking lives) this weekend. Instead, they’ll be putting pedal to the metal in tricked-out Hondas and Mitsubishis within the confines of SpeedWorld Dragstrip during the latest installment of Arizona Street Racers Association’s monthly Friday Night L.O.U.D.R. event (short for “Lights Out Underground Drag Racing”). While DJ Villin provides a soundtrack of phat hip-hop beats, wanna-be Vin Diesels can burn rubber during a number of drags in different categories. As the event’s flier says, “Just like the illegals, but without the cops.”
