While it seems like a flighty daydream that Vincent Van Gogh ever rolled out a mat and tried yoga, we’d like to think that if he’d spent more time in downward dog then he might have been less of a downer. (Though the whole missing-ear thing probably would’ve made balance-focused tree pose extra-challenging.) But the opportunity to practice yoga while in a room covered with massive versions of the Dutch post-Impressionist’s art is one daydream that can be made into a reality.
A partnership between Arizona Science Center and Sutra Midtown will realize an intersection of Van Gogh and vinyasa in Flow with Van Gogh, a series of classes held inside the center’s current Vincent-centric exhibit which includes more than 3,000 of the artist’s images projected onto the floors, ceiling, and walls.
