Serendipity is nice, whether you think of the John Cusack movie, the kick ass restaurant in Las Vegas and New York City, or the true meaning of the word. These pleasant surprises can be found just about anywhere, and while it won’t include any frozen hot chocolate or copies of Love in the Time of Cholera, Movement Source Dance Company’s season finale looks to be a joyous occasion. This multimedia performance, dubbed Serendipity, combines the work of dance students and professionals at the hands of choreographers Carlos Jones and Angel Crissman. The dancers will celebrate life and all things serendipitous in conjunction with projected video, visual art elements, and a live performance by local violinist Tobie Milford.

Enjoy Serendipity at Tempe Center for the Arts, 700 West Rio Salado Parkway, at 8 p.m. Friday, May 16. All-ages tickets start at $15. Call 480-350-2822 or visit www.movementsourcedancecompany.org.

Fri., May 16, 8 p.m.; Sat., May 17, 2 & 8 p.m., 2014
