Sculpture and architecture fiends have plenty of eye candy in metro Phoenix, and on Thursday, May 16, they’ll have an opportunity to meet with a lineup of creatives who have shaped this city.
That’s when Scottsdale Public Art and the International Sculpture Center will host “A Conversation: Sculpture + Architecture,” a panel discussion with sculpture and architecture greats, including Will Bruder, Kendall Buster, and Jeffrey Stein. The three will talk inspiration, collaboration, and the intersections and blurred lines between the two worlds.
According to Scottsdale Public Art, “Sculpture not only inhabits a space, it engages with the particulars of its surrounding architectural space. Architecture goes beyond the experience of a space to a design with sensitivity to the physical properties of a material and of a location.”
The panel, moderated by Matt Lehrman, will take place in the Mid-century modern landmark Hotel Valley Ho, 6850 East Main Street. The talk begins at 6 p.m. in the Soho Ballroom, and reception follows from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on the rooftop.
