The challenges facing local news organizations are very real. That's why reader support matters more than ever. If you believe independent journalism matters, make a contribution today and help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $15,000 by August 9.
If ballet’s too boring and modern too loosey-goosey, then Jessica Lang might have just the thing. The New York-based contemporary choreographer, who danced under Twyla Tharp, melds traditional ballet elements with boundary-breaking movement. Don’t take our word for it. This year Lang won a Bessie Award, a seriously big deal for an up-and-comer. And you can scope out her whole deal yourself at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, when her company Jessica Lang Dance will perform at Mesa Arts Center’s Piper Theater, One East Main Street. Tickets are $30 to $40. Visit www.mesaartscenter.com or call the box office at 480-644-6500.
