Independent Journalism in Phoenix Needs You
We need to raise $15,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
With their postseason aspirations fast becoming pipe dreams, the Arizona Diamondbacks find themselves in the disheartening position of having little left to play for other than their pride. Meanwhile, the Dodgers punched their ticket to the postseason a long time ago. Now they find themselves in the enviable position of having little left to play for at all until the postseason starts. And given that most hardball pundits feel that it was the Diamondbacks who inadvertently lit a fire under the Dodgers quarter-billion-dollar asses with their bench clearing brawl back in June, you can bet that the D-Backs would love to take a few more swipes at the division leading boys in blue before they hang up their cleats at the month’s end.
The Diamondbacks cap a seven-game homestand against Los Angeles at Phoenix’s Chase Field, 401 East Jefferson Street, on Thursday, September 19, at 12:40 p.m. Tickets start at $15. Visit www.dbacks.com or call 602-514-8400 for details.
