On paper, the only differences between Suns point guard Aaron Brooks and Chris Paul of the New Orleans Hornets are about four months, half an inch, and ten pounds. It’s the gap on the court that has Brooks seeking to restart a once-promising career as Steve Nash’s understudy in Phoenix, and Paul seeking to overtake Nash as the best point guard in the league.

The Suns will need Brooks to step up if they’re going to have any chance against the visiting Hornets. The stingers run their whole offense through Paul; if the Suns can find a way to neutralize him and win the game, they’ll be one step closer to a playoff spot.
