While 70 percent of the country preps for deep freeze, we Arizonans and a million part-time residents (and professional traffic stoppers) are loving everything outdoors. Everything seems more vibrant and energizing when it’s not melting under the sun or stopped cold by sub-degree temps. It makes you want to dance in the street — or avenue. Mill Avenue to be exact.
This weekend we’ll have a great excuse to hang out in the open because Tempe Festival of the Arts will welcome thousands of visitors to the city’s downtown district. A multitude of artsy entries were whittled down to a selection of about 400 artisans who will share their wares. Featured artist Ryan Myers of Wisconsin will display his ability to tell stories and explore hidden values through detailed clay sculptures.
Though the fest focuses mainly on visual arts, the rest of your senses won’t be left out thanks to live music, street performances, and food vendors.
