After a two-day hiatus and a big scare to the local climbing community, Climbmax owner Mike Fitzgerald announced last night that the Tempe indoor climbing gym will be open again, as of this afternoon.
“Our short closure has given way to negotiations to renew our lease,” Fitzgerald wrote on the Climbmax’s Facebook wall. “As it stands, we will be re-opening tomorrow, Friday 9/16/11!!! We apologize for the closure but hopefully, it will lead to a long happy future for Climbmax Climbing Gym. Thank you for all your support and we love you guys!!”

The gym’s website has been restored and the phone’s been reconnected. (Now they just need to set up a voicemail; Fitzgerald could not be reached for comment.)
Regular hours for the week are listed on the site: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, the gym will be open from 3 to 10 p.m., Tuesday, Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 7 p.m..
