$10,000

As any cipher will likely tell you, DJing is the most vital of the four elements of hip-hop. And when it comes to Valley vinylists who understand the importance of providing a head-nod heavy soundtrack for rappers, breakers, and graf artists, Tricky T is one of the best around.

As a protégé and longtime collaborator of local legend DJ Z-Trip, T’s pedigree in scratching, mixing and otherwise tearing up the turntables is impeccable. Every Monday night, you can witness him going ham at his latest venture, Boom Bap, at the Hidden House, 607 West Osborn Road.

Each week, the Trickster focuses on vintage block-rocking beats and a steady stream of Phoenix’s sickest selectas including gigs from the likes of Djentrification and recent Red Bull Thre3Style winner M2, while urban artists do live painting to enhance the party vibe with some wild style flair.

Tricky T will share the decks with special guests DJ Brazilia and Sean Watson on Monday, April 25. The hip-hop gets happening at 9 p.m.

Mondays, 9 p.m., 2011
