The trope of artist as shut-in isn’t completely fictitious; you could be living across the street from the next Picasso and never even know it. The “All Coronado Art Show” seeks to bring our talented neighbors out into the open with a hyper-localized exhibition that features artists from the Coronado neighborhood at local art spot The Hive. The show features 18 total artists, including a few familiar faces like La Muñeca and Hugo Medina. Artists were given free reign over their work, so the art should present a nice array of different styles and media.
The “All Coronado Art Show” will be on view from Friday, September 19, through Saturday, October 11, at The Hive, 2222 North 16 Street. An opening reception will take place on September 19 from 7 to 10 p.m. featuring music by Adrian Fontes and refreshments from the Central Phoenix Home Brew Club. Admission is free.
