Even though he’s pushing 37 years old, Shaquille O’Neal is still one of the NBA’s most visible players. And though the league’s All-Star Weekend festivities are crackling all over town this weekend, you know Shaq can be found at the, ahem, center of it all . . . but not necessarily in the way you think.
You see, we knew about Shaq’s forays into the worlds of acting, music, and law enforcement. But we had no clue about his attempts at stand-up comedy (his trips to the free-throw line notwithstanding). Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $17,250 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
