$10,000

There are two types of people: the kind who alphabetize their CDs and the kind who lose their CDs under the pile of Burger King wrappers and yellowing newspapers in their car’s backseat (bet you can guess which one we are). Whether you neatly fold your underwear or throw dirty clothes on the floor, you’ll appreciate the duality of the works in the “Order & Chaos: pattern & design in contemporary art” exhibit.

The group exhibition features paintings, drawings, and mixed-media works with patterns ranging from OCD rows of dots and squares to haphazardly arranged trees. Sixteen artists are represented, including James Angel, Barry Farmer, and Catherine Ruane, whose photorealistic charcoal drawings and oil paintings depict the sharp lines and heavy shadows of native desert plants.

Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: Nov. 18. Continues through Dec. 17, 2008
