The Diamondbacks got smoked in Denver, and who gave a hang about a World Series featuring the Colorado Rockies? Blaaaah. Long story short, Major League Baseball’s over. But is it? Not with Arizona Fall League Baseball kicking up dust at five stadiums around the Valley. The six-team AFL features promising prospects getting some seasoning for future MLB careers. The top game on Thursday, November 1, features the Peoria Saguaros versus Team USA — a squad made up of top collegiate freshmen and sophs. Other Thursday duels include the Peoria Javelinas versus Mesa Solar Sox and Surprise Rafters versus Scottsdale Scorpions. (The Phoenix Desert Dogs have the day off.)
