Native North Americans legendarily used all parts of any buffalo they managed to fell. Nothing was wasted.
Similarly, Banding Hendrix (pronounced “Bonding”) pulls from everything around him and within him and pours it into his work. See for yourself when the San Francisco native displays his array of pop, tribal, abstract, and surrealistic art during a Third Friday reception at Holgas Gallery. Speaking of his art, Hendrix makes it clear that his creations aren’t one-way streets. In his artist statement, Hendrix says that he “aims to create an emotional stimulation within the viewer and my artwork. I plant a seed in their mind that takes root and flowers. It is up to the viewer to define that blossoming.”
