Everyone struggles with their family when they’re growing up. Parents torture teenagers with rules; then there’s good ol’ sibling rivalry, and crazy, creepy aunts.
But adulthood doesn’t make all that familial weirdness go away. And Polly Frost knows it. The New York-based writer and humorist addresses those challenges in her one-woman show How to Survive Your Adult Relationship with Your Family.
“Even if you’ve come to terms with your childhood, your adult relationship with your family can really throw you for a loop,” Frost says. “We all need humor to deal with the ways in which our families — and extended families — can pose us challenges no amount of therapy prepares us for.”
