Looking for something to do this weekend? “Night Owl” is a quick guide to special nights at bars and clubs around town. We’ll give you a few hints re: cover, dress code, music and atmosphere. Every other Tuesday marks The Hot Plate at The Lost Leaf.
The Hot Plate doesn’t heat up your Tuesday night too quickly. Instead it brings the evening to a slow boil with DJ Smite‘s all vinyl relaxed reggae rhythms and The Lost Leaf‘s bevy of brewski bargains.

The Place: 914 N. 5th St., Phoenix, AZ 85004
We feel thankful for our staff and for the privilege of fulfilling our mission to be an unparalleled source of information and insight in Phoenix. We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to this community.
The Time: 10 p.m., every second Tuesday.
The Cover:The Art: The bar’s heavily bricked walls are one of the premier galleries in Downtown Phoenix. Ernesto Yerena and Philip Lumbang’s “Dead Relatives”, a show consisting of a series of Dia De Los Muertos animal cartoons, is currently on display.
The Style:
We’re thankful for you. Are you thankful for us?
Help us continue giving back to Phoenix.
What we loved: The diverse collection of brews, on special and just in general. The citrusy $3 Prescott Amber Ale was our personal favorite. We also loved the mash-up of hipster and reggae culture.
What we didn’t love: The Lost Leaf may have some form of live music every night, but its music space/stage/dance floor is a little cramped and in the corner for us.
Are we going back? Yeah, but not every time.
