While you’ve been avoiding anything near Central Avenue and Camelback Road because of the maddening light-rail construction and your inability to drive like Batman, a slew of new shops have been opening under the radar. Unless you’re an inside-tip-havin’ hipster, that is.

If you are, then you already know about Emily Blanche’s homage to style known as Gold Lion Boutique. Named after a song by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Gold Lion’s been rocking the runway with killer clothes by Bond Girl and New Soldier of Leisure. “In addition to local designers, we carry vintage men and women’s clothing, shoes, accessories, and art,” says Blanche.

Check out Gold Lion Boutique’s Fashion Release Party and the new Artè Puro collection from Leonor Aispuro and Emilie Uriarte. Described as “vintage pieces with an ethnic twist,” we call them delish. “They’re very beautiful, very flattering to a woman’s shape,” says Blanche. “There are lots of silks, and we think they are very elegant and pretty.” The complete line includes dresses, skirts, and tops. The best part? It’s wallet-friendly, with prices ranging from $45 to $80. We’ll take two of everything.
