Valley sports lovers have a lot to celebrate right now, with the once-laughable Arizona Cardinals hustling their way from the toilet bowl to the Super Bowl. But forget football: Fans of the pigskin are a bunch of beer-swilling slobs. Who wants to celebrate the glory of sports with that lot?

Not us, that’s for sure. We’d rather class it up on the greens than slum it in the nosebleeds with a bunch of Cheetos-grubbing rednecks in XXL Wal-Mart clothes. Those in the know realize that the big game isn’t only in Tampa this year; it’s also right here at the Tournament Players Club of Scottsdale during the FBR Open. With the unbelievable golf played by the likes of JB Holmes, Aaron Baddeley, Phil Mickelson, and Vijay Singh, the 2009 edition of the “Greatest Show on Grass” should be a real barnburner.
