On Saturday, August 11, a team of local artists will add some fresh paint to downtown Phoenix for a good cause. Presented by Harder Development, The Great Paint Escape is an art project, live mural painting, and silent auction to benefit Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona.
From 6 p.m. to midnight, artists Hugo Medina, Sebastien Millon, JB Snyder, Angel Diaz, Katie Beltran, Amanda Adkins, Colton Brock, Pablo Luna, Thomas Breeze Marcus, Gennaro Garcia, and Aaron Johnson will create artworks for sale and, together, they’ll cover a wall at 335 West McDowell Road, with what’s bound to be an epic example of some serious artistic, collaborative talent.
DJ Shane Kennedy will spin the soundtrack. Snacks and drinks will be provided for participants and attendees. On the following First Friday, September 7, an exhibition of the collaborative work will be on view from 6 to 9 p.m. and up for silent auction at the same location.

Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $15,500 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
