A day of outdoor sporting sounds utterly English, and, while our minds drift toward the idyllic landscape of Downton Abbey and equestrianism, this summer marks London’s third go-round hosting the Olympic Games. Although upper-crust activities like shooting, bowls, and fox hunting won’t be included in the two weeks of world-class athletics, Rosson House’s take on the Olympiad, Summer Games 2012, will serve up a day of old-timey, countryside leisure.

The lineup of activities includes games such as hoop-and-stick, Graces, marbles, croquet, and jump rope. Should you require a refresher course, recreational guides will lead you through the rules and whatnot.

Sat., June 9, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., 2012
