1. The State of Sustainability in Metro Phoenix
Tonight, Andrew Ross, author of “Bird on Fire:
Lessons from the World’s Least Sustainable City” and a panel of local experts will talk about the current state of sustainability in Phoenix as well as their ideas for the future.
Ross will be joined by Steve Betts, former president/CEO of SunCor Development and current Arizona District Council Chair of the Urban Land Institute, George Brooks, sustainability consultant and publisher of NxT Horizon Magazine, Terry Goddard, former Phoenix mayor and former Arizona attorney general, Taz Loomans, architect and writer/blogger on sustainability issues, Eva Olivas, executive director, Phoenix Revitalization Corporation, and Silvia Urrutia, director of Housing and Healthcare Finance, Raza Development Fund. The discussion will e a public form at the George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center, 415 East Grant Street. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. More info here.
