In Phoenix, there are two ways to know when it’s officially fall: ASU girls start pairing heavy winter boots with tiny booty
shorts, and cyclists and beer fanatics start gearing up for the Tour De Fat. And this Saturday, you can expect a whole lot of both at Tempe Beach Park.
The New Belgium hoopla benefits the Mountain Bike Association of Arizona, Bike Saviours, and the Tempe Bicycle Action Group.
Our advice: Show up on a bike (don’t even think about driving), and lock up your ride with the mob of cruisers, fixies and roadies before taking in the spectacle of steampunks and often-costumed New Belgium enthusiasts while sipping down an icy cold Fat Tire.

Besides a bunch of crazy bikes and New Belgium beer, the event features
scheduled performances, activities and rides throughout the day
starting with an extravagant bicycle parade through the streets of
Tempe and ending with a car for bike trade and a performance by Pimps
of Joytime

The festival comes equipped with three decked-out stages
for performances and plenty of oddly adorned participants and
performers for a healthy dose of gawking.
