The project, currently in research phase with textbook and online resource guides in the works, discovers and documents typefaces and digital display fonts designed between 1800 and World War I.
Each documented entry includes the pre-digital tradename, year of issue, and name and nationality of the designer. Project founders say the first volume they’ll release will take a look at victorian faces, “a spectacular trove of innovative gems.”
