French playwright Yasmina Reza has shown Valley (and worldwide) audiences the funny-scary dynamics of couples in some of her hits, strangers in others, and, in Art, three middle-aged bros, longtime friends whose buried pain, resentment, and insecurities build to the boiling point when one of them buys a painting the other two think is crap. The veneer of polite civilization falls away, things get very primal and personal, and you’ll also laugh your ass off.
