Aside from being an official day of recovery for Valley hipsters nursing their First Friday hangovers, the first Saturday of the month is also the recurring date for one of Phoenix’s hippest dance parties. For two years now, DJs Roya and Funkfinger have made Tongue Tied the place to go when you don’t want the first weekend revelry to end. Saturday, May 2, marks the event’s second anniversary, which will be celebrated in typical TT fashion, with lightsabers and superhero dance battles. Plenty of fun stuff will be given away at the Superhero vs. Sci-Fi party, including your dignity when you arrive at Phoenix’s Linger Longer Lounge, 6522 North 16th Street, in adult underoos.
