Those who scoff at the sun as they pedal across Valley streets are invited to raise goblets of ale to the cooling of pavement when the annual Tour De Fat returns to Tempe.
The New Belgium Brewing Company-sponsored fest brings music by the Dylan-esque singer Sean Hayes and merry-mob leaders MarchFourth Marching Band. You can also catch the vaudeville theatrics of the Squirm Burpee Circus and Honeymoon Cabaret, as well as the car-for-bike funeral procession. All types of bikes and cyclists are welcome to register for the parade, sure to contain great new creations from our local clutch of freaky bike engineers.
Proceeds benefit various environmental causes.
