$30,000

The long-running goth night, started in 2004 at Club Palazzo, is getting its coffin lid nailed shut this Friday night, which our music blog, Up on The Sun announced in August. And while there is some speculation that it might rise again to haunt another club in the near future, tomorrow night is your last chance to shuffle gloomily to the Sisters Of Mercy inside Palazzo.

To celebrate its passing into dance night limbo/oblivion, the last Tranzylvania will be its grand closing party. DJ Noiz.Fkr and DJ Dark_Mark will be bringing the noise, and the event will be free until 10pm with a $7 cover afterwards. And according to its Facebook events page, it’ll be a White-themed event, so if you are going, you’ve got an excuse to leave the standard-issue black clothing behind for one night and wear something that will match well with chopped-up bathroom cocaine lines.

And while its always sad to see yet another long-running event bite the dust in Phoenix, there’s no need to cry and ruin your immaculate Cleopatra eye makeup, goth fans. Other nights will still be happening in town that cater to the fetish and foot-stomping-on-the-dancefloor-demographic, like Sanctum‘s weekly Wednesday goth night (which has no cover). Or the Firehouse‘s monthly SINged event — happening on the last Friday of each month — which, on the downside has a small cover charge, but on the upside usually has good tunes, interesting performance acts, and each night has its own theme.

Past SINges have had Bollywood and tiki beach party themes, and this month SINge’s theme will be hellbilly. And those two events are just the tip of an obsidian iceberg, with other industrial events and fetish nights happening throughout town.
