The challenges facing local news organizations are very real. That's why reader support matters more than ever. If you believe independent journalism matters, make a contribution today and help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $15,000 by August 9.
Faux blood dripping from the ceiling. Cheesy construction paper cutouts of bats and shit hanging on the walls. Over-the-top costumes worn by over-the-top folks.
Yeah, not exactly our idea of a fun Halloween celebration.
For a kick-back, chill-out good time with good peoples, hit up the Hallows Eve Costume Party, where you won’t get blasted by in-yo-face Halloween-themed lameness. Instead, marinate your ears in the sounds of Djentrification, who tells us he’ll be spinning from the bar’s perch (and who can only be considered scary for his unpredictability on the turntables). There will also be live music by the Black Bear Ensemble, a killing jazz band that, in the past, has done a mean version of Freddie Hubbard’s “Red Clay.”
