If you’re anything like us, when the interstellar athletes competing in the Ironman Triathlon descend upon the Valley each fall, you think, “I should do something like that.” But again, if you’re anything like us, a two-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride, and marathon-run sandwich would literally kill you. The Lifetime Fitness Indoor Triathlon is designed for triathlon newbs. Instead of ranking you by how quickly you finish a set distance, this competition is time-based — judges add up the distance you cover during 10 minutes in the lap pool, 30 minutes on a stationary bike and 20 minutes on a treadmill. Just one hour and bam, you’re a triathlete. And alive, which is always good.
