Too bad J.K. Rowling couldn’t come up with cuter names for her magical literary characters — or at least names we could pronounce on this side of the pond (say it slowly … “her-my-ah-knee”).
In 2011, “Isabella” and “Jacob” (also the names of the two main characters in Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight, for those of you stuck under a glittery rock) were the most popular baby names this year in Arizona, followed by Emma, Sophia, and Mia, and Anthony, Daniel, and Michael, according to the Arizona Department of Health Services.

The state’s top 20 names has remained pretty solid for the past few years — the only newcomer in 2011 was “Evelyn,” perhaps inspired by reality television’s current trainwreck and Basketball Wives’ star Evelyn Lozada (currently being sued for allegedly receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars illegally from ex-fiance and former NBA All-Star Antoine Walker … classy).
