Keep Phoenix New Times Free
We’re aiming to raise $10,000 by April 26. Your support ensures New Times can continue watching out for you and our community. No paywall. Always accessible. Daily online and weekly in print.
Bust out your capes and fangs. It’s vampire time, baby. No, we’re not talking about Halloween or some teenage goth event. We’re speaking of the transformation every Phoenician goes through during the summer months. We avoid the sun, socialize in the evening hours, and sleep during the day whenever possible.
Lucky for us bloodsuckers, Desert Botanical Garden caters to our nocturnal needs with the Summer Flashlight Tour every Thursday and Saturday through August 30. Free with general admission, the tour encourages guests to poke around the desert for insects, nighthawks, tortoises, and night-blooming flowers.
Thursdays, Saturdays, 7-9 p.m. Starts: May 1. Continues through Aug. 30, 2008
