When it comes to downtown Phoenix, bicycles and art kind of go hand in hand. Artistically made bike racks? Bike tours to notable landmarks? They can’t keep their metaphorical hands off each other. KAYRAE Art is bringing this pair together in a new way during Velo Artifex, on Friday, April 24, at 7 p.m. Hosted at 909 Cooperative, 909 North Fifth Street, this show will feature varied artists, including seasoned professionals and first-time exhibitors. Velo Artifex will also feature an art-themed alley cat (an informal bicycle race). Oh, and did we mention live music and free beer? Tickets for racers are $5 online or $8 at the door. General admission is $3 online or $5 at the door. For tickets and more info, visit www.kayraeart.com/events/veloartifex.
