If the weekly Scottsdale ArtWalk isn’t on your radar, you’ll want to mark Thursday, October 18, on your calendar. That’s when the ArtWalk celebrates its 38th anniversary with artwork from around the state, as well as community art projects and local eats.
Hosted by the Scottsdale Gallery Association from 7 to 9 p.m., the free event will highlight works in galleries in downtown Scottsdale, including live painting by James Randle at Marshall | LeKAE Gallery of Fine Art, new work by Patricia Sherwood at Calvin Charles Gallery, and still life paintings on copper by Benjamin J. Shamback at Bonner David Galleries.
Take your time and explore the art district’s staple galleries and wander into new ones to the tune of live music and live art by local creatives on the streets. And if you need a snack or a pick-me-up, stop at Shine Coffee’s truck, where a portion of sales (including all sorts of java and brioche doughnuts by FnB’s Charleen Badman) will be donated to the YEA! Young & Emerging Artists program.
Thu., Oct. 18, 7-9 p.m., 2012
