So you want to get healthy. That’s great. But don’t do what every other idiot American does by joining a gym and starting a hard-core diet all at once. By the end of week one, all your muscles will ache and you’ll hate all vegetables. That kind of burn out will lead you right back to pizza and burgers.

Instead, try the Walk or Jog One Mile event at the Downtown Phoenix Public Market Urban Grocery & Wine Bar. This quick jaunt is for the casual health-conscious individual who wants a low-key way to get into an active-ish lifestyle. This weekly trek started in July and fetches a handful of folks every Saturday. Meet at the Market and follow the group through downtown. You can jog or walk the one-mile loop that will take you back to the grocery store where you can nosh on tasty eats, snag some healthy groceries, or grab a cup of coffee.
