Melding sci-fi and fantasy conventions with historical reenactments, fashion competitions, and educational seminars, Costume-Con 30 will drape Tempe Mission Palms Hotel, 60 East Fifth Street, with stitches, fabrics, and a healthy dose of dress-up. The traveling convention brings together costumers of all varieties — anime fans, theatre production designers, and your neighbors who are super into Halloween. Events take place throughout the weekend and include a Costumer’s Runway competition, quilt and hand puppet exhibits, and social soirees.
The con wraps up on Monday, May 14, with a seminar on how to host a proper masquerade from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
