Each week, Jackalope Ranch brings you a free event, workshop, or you-name-it happening in Phoenix. Because sometimes the best things in life really are free. This week’s freebie: Adults’ Night Out.

Sometimes it seems like kids get all the perks — their cereal boxes come with prizes, their dinner menus come with crayons, and then there’s that whole not-having-to-work-for-a-living thing.

Fortunately the Arizona Science Center is letting adults have a little fun of their own with its free event, Adults’ Night Out.

Will you step up to support New Times this year?

We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. If New Times matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.

$30,000

This monthly event occurs every First Friday and offers thought-provoking lectures, with the option of also attending film screenings and exploring the center’s featured exhibits sans children.

The Adults’ Night Out on June 7 will feature a 7 p.m. lecture, “Medical ethics 101; Asking the hard questions,” by Dr. David Beyda, MD, Professor of Pediatrics; Director, Ethics and Humanism at the University of Arizona College of Medicine.

The lecture will be followed by a film screening of Black Holes in the Dorrance Planetarium at 8:15 p.m. Film admission is an additional $8, and admission to “Da Vinci – The Genius” is $12.

For more information or to pre-register visit the Arizona Science Center online.
