Throughout their 40 years of balling, the Phoenix Suns have consistently made the playoffs. But once the team lost that star-crossed coin flip for the right to draft Lew Alcindor, one thing has plagued the squad in its NBA Championship quest: the inability to find a true center to enforce the paint. Hopefully, that’ll no longer be a problem with Shaquille O’Neal banging his beefy elbows at the 5. However, the multi-million-dollar question is whether the Suns’ chemistry can survive the addition of Shaq and subtraction of Shawn Marion. We’ll have a pretty good idea after the game against the rejuvenated Boston Celtics, the team with the best record in the NBA and a future Hall of Famer in Kevin Garnett.
