Most pop-culture consumers don’t realize it, but there’s much more to being a professional comic than scoring a sitcom and some semi-humorous film work. A circuitous path, as a matter of fact, is far more often the exception than the norm. Take Kevin Brennan, for instance. The Saturday Night Live alum has made the late-night rounds on Letterman, Conan, and Carson Daly, filmed his own HBO One Night Stand, and was voted the prestigious Aspen US Comedy Arts Festival’s Best Comedian in 2005.
