Talking to New Times about Cousins of the Wize’s impending CD-release show, lead MC Michael “Magnum Pie” Bradford has a laid back steadiness in his voice that never wavers. That’s saying something, considering all the band has been through the past eleven years.
“First off, it humbles you,” Bradford says about the logistics of longevity. “You grow in perseverance and patience . . . We just feel so blessed and so excited to get the album into people’s hands.”
The album, The Art of Living, is the latest product from a band that has persisted and thrived for more than a decade. They’ve gone through all of the ups and downs that a crew can withstand, ranging from changes in sound to a hiatus-prompting tragedy (the loss of group member Chris “CPT” Pangrazi). But as stated on “Cruise Control,” a signature tune on The Art of Living, “Cousins live on and we hope you all enjoy the ride.”
Admission includes a copy of the new CD.
