That is, unless the portrait depicts a whimsical pair of high heels to be sold at TJ Maxx. If it’s thoughtful and poignant, the default gender responsible is male. Chicano, Hispanic and Native-focused gallery The Sagrado’s “Mujeres” exhibition challenges that idea with a collection of artwork from women. On display will be works from Latina artists Julia Duran, Angelica’s Photo Art, and more.
