Traditional social constructs would lead you to believe that if a piece of art is any good, then a man probably made it. That is, unless the portrait depicts a whimsical pair of high heels to be sold at TJ Maxx. If it’s thoughtful and poignant, the default gender responsible is male. On display will be works from Latina artists Julia Duran, Angelica’s Photo Art, and more.

Fri., May 4, 6 p.m., 2012
