Artists can’t resist molesting the world with their paint, ink, or charcoal. A blank surface doesn’t stand a chance. Think of Basquiat. His lady friend falls asleep for two seconds and the guy splats up her expensive party dress. Sure, she was pissed at the time, but little did she know the thing could eventually be worth millions.

So throw a pair of canvas shoes in front of a painter and you know they’re not long for this world, especially for the 12 artists participating in the “Royal Kicks for Kids” shoe show. The silent auction features canvas sneakers painted by talented artists such as Jason Hill, with proceeds benefiting HomeBase Youth Services.
